Candy, Popcorn, Fun, Jesus!

What ages get to attend?

New Life Kids At The Movies is in all areas of  NL Kids!

  • Early Childhood (birth – Kindergarten)
  • Elementary (1st – 3rd)
  • Preteen (4th & 5th)

What Will my kids be learning?

Each week, we’ll watch clips from different movies and learn about the fruits of the Spirit. Through Bible stories, fun activities, and powerful truths, kids will grow in understanding how much God loves them and they’ll see that the fruits of the Spirit naturally grow when we stay close to Jesus.
 
Bible verse: Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is now law.”

Week 1: Peace & Patience

  • In Finding Dory, the kids will see how Dory and her friends have peace in tough and scary situations. They will learn about patience as they see Dory being patient as she is struggling with her short-term memory loss. They will learn that peace comes from knowing that God is in control.

Week 2: Gentleness & Self-Control

  • In Beauty and the Beast, the kids will discover how God can help us to control our thoughts and actions. They will learn how we can be gentle with others in our actions and our words. They will see the Beast change in his ways, becoming more gentle in his words an actions, and learning to control his anger and temper.

Week 3: Kindness and goodness

  • In The Wild Robot, the kids will learn that goodness is who we are on the inside and that kindness is how they can show it in their actions on the outside. They see Roz the robot overriding her robotic programming to love and help the other animals. They will learn that God is goodness and kindness and that everything He does is good. 

Week 4: Faithfulness

  • In Charlotte’s Web, the kids see how Charlotte stays committed to her promise to save Wilbur even when it becomes difficult and exhausting. She never gives up. They will learn that God is faithful, that He always keeps His promises.

Week 5: Joy and Love

  • In Meet the Robinson’s, the kids will see a deep, unshakable joy, and how the family finds hope and happiness in everything, even through setbacks. They will see that we can be happy in all circumstances because joy comes from being with God. He gives us joy!

all about?

Kids love movies! But there’s so much more we can learn from them—and that’s what New Life Kids At the Movies is all about. We’ll watch scenes from favorite kids movies during church, and we will use them to teach the kids more about God, themselves, and the life that’s possible for all of us with Jesus. Plus we’ll have candy, popcorn, drinks, and fun activities for the kids each week to learn more about Jesus!

New Life Kids has a special, age-appropriate At the Movies experience just for kids! Kindergarten-6th graders sing songs, play games, and learn truths from the Bible through their favorite movies.

Movies speak to our circumstances and connect us to one another. But there’s so much more we can learn from them—and that’s what At the Movies is all about. We'll watch scenes from powerful movies during church, and Pastor Mike Wilson will use them to teach us more about God, ourselves, and the life that's possible for us. Plus we will be serving up the best snacks, and creating photo ops and other fun for your family!
