As you approach this election and political season, let this "guide" you as a follower of Christ.
I will commit to Jesus and His way over any political candidate or party. (Matthew 22:21)
I will respect others as made in the image of God and will not demonize those I disagree with or who disagree with me. (James 3:9-10)
I will use social media to reflect Jesus first, my opinion second. (Colossians 4:5-6)
I will filter political participation through my love for God and my love for my neighbor. (Mark 12:29-31)
I will trust God with the future, no matter any election outcomes. (Ephesians 1:9-10)
I recognize that in our church and in my world, I can love people; they can love God; and, we can vote differently. (Galatians 2:28)
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
(Philippians 2:3-4)
Our encouragement is to honor the name of Jesus in everything that we do.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lordrequire of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
