Helping Kids Take Steps Toward Becoming Who God Created Them To Be
In New Life Kids we want to partner with parents in helping their children grow in their faith and take steps toward Jesus. We believe parents are the primary disciplers of their children, and our goal is to support and equip families with meaningful experiences and resources that help kids grow in wisdom, faith, and friendship.
Because kids are a big deal to God, they’re a big deal to us! Each week, our team brings the Bible to life through engaging lessons, worship, games, and hands-on activities in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. Through intentional learning, authentic community, and practical faith experiences, we help kids discover the real Jesus and learn what it means to follow Him every day and to become who He created them to be.
We look forward to partnering with your family as we help the next generation live in the way of Jesus.
Serve With Us
In New Life Kids, we have the privilege of partnering with parents in the discipleship of their children and investing in the next generation of our church! Multiple service opportunities exist across a variety of age groups. We would love to talk with you more!
Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Elena Austin.
What will my child experience during service?
We implement an age-appropriate curriculum for children and teach them in creative ways to bring the Bible stories to life. They will experience worship, a large group Bible lesson, and life group time. They are loved like Jesus loved and shown that they, too, can become followers of Jesus.
How do I know my child is safe?
Your child’s safety is our top priority. All our staff and volunteers have been background-checked, trained, and approved to work with children. Also, when you checked in today, you received a numbered/letter two-part ID tag. You’ll present your portion of the ID tag when you pick up your child. If you lose your tag, you can reprint one at check-in. No child will be released without matching tags.
What if my child has allergies?
We are allergy-friendly! Let a volunteer know if your child has an allergy, and we can add it to their name tag in our system.
What if my child needs me or I need to leave service early?
There may be instances where your child may need you. In that case, we ask that you keep your cell phone on vibrate, so we can text you. If this happens, please immediately proceed to your child’s classroom. If you must leave early, please see a New Life Kids volunteer to assist you.
What is your check-in and check-out procedure?
When you check your child in, you receive a numbered/letter two-part ID tag. The name tag is for your child, and the numbered/letter tag is for you to keep. You’ll present your portion of the ID tag when you pick up your child. If you lose your tag, you can reprint one at check-in. If the number presented at pickup does not match the child’s, they will not be released.
What ages and grades are accommodated?
We offer services for all ages from birth to 5th grade. Once kids move into 6th grade, they join our youth group.
Who leads the children’s ministry?
Elena Austin is the Children’s Director, Lindsey Austin is the Elementary/Preteen Coordinator, and Jen Ward is the Early Childhood Coordinator.
Is it possible to tour rooms?
Absolutely! Let Elena, Lindsey, or Jen know, and we can schedule a time to show you the areas during the week.
On my next visit, how do I check my child in?
You can either check in at one of our self-check-in stations or check in with one of our New Life Kid leaders at one of our manned stations in the New Kids Room.
As a parent/guardian can I go into the room?
To ensure the safety of all our children, the only adults allowed in the rooms are trained, background-checked, New Life Kids leaders.
Can I come back during service to check on my child?
Only staff and background-checked volunteers are allowed in these areas. Although we know you care about your child’s well-being, we also have others that are in our care, and we have a secured/restricted area during service. This helps maintain a secure environment for all our kids, volunteers, and staff. If you have a specific concern, please see a member of our support team at the information desk to assist you.
What happens if my child is not feeling well?
If your child is not feeling well, we will text you to notify you to come pick them up.
What happens in the case of my child being upset?
If your child is crying or upset for longer than 5 minutes, we will send you a text to come pick them up.
What happens if my child has behavioral issues?
If your child is having behavioral issues, we will text you. You can come talk to them, or, if the behavior is no longer safe for others or not manageable in the classroom, you will have to pick them up.
Can my child bring a friend?
Yes! We will have you fill out a family information card for them and make you an authorized user to check them in and pick them up.
Can my child move to a different age group or grade?
To ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone, children must remain in their designated age group or grade. Most children get settled quickly in their room and have lots of fun with their peers. If, however, your child were to be upset, sad, or need you, we will text you.
Can my older child pick up their sibling?
If you feel comfortable with an older child picking up their sibling, as long as they have the pick-up sticker that matches the number on the child’s name tag, they may do so.
If needed, does the team know CPR/First Aid?
We are glad you asked. We have a support team that is CPR/First Aid certified.
Is a summer camp or VBS offered?
We do not offer a summer camp or VBS. We do offer our At The Movies series every Sunday in August. During these services, we take age-appropriate kids’ movies and show how we can see God, His character, and biblical lessons in them.
What if I want to join the NLK team?
We are always looking for awesome people to join our team! Serving in New Life Kids is a vital opportunity to shape the next generation of believers and help them become disciples of Jesus. Serving in New Life Kids allows children and their families to come and BECOME who God created them to be, and that’s an incredible life change to be a part of. We are so glad you’ll be joining us!
Are teens allowed to serve?
Absolutely! They are required to be 13 years old or at least in 7th grade. We believe in giving teens the opportunity to lead early and often.
Are personal toys or electronics allowed?
Please do not have your children bring toys or electronics, especially cell phones. If toys or electronics are brought to service, we are not responsible for lost, broken, or stolen items.
