No Limits

Kickoff Sunday 2025: No Limits

God’s power has no limits. Too often, we fall into pessimism—believing our failures disqualify us, or that God is finished working in us. But Scripture reminds us that the same God who spoke galaxies into existence is still able to do infinitely more than we could ask or imagine.

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

In this Kickoff Sunday message, Pastor Mike challenges us to remove the limits we place on God, ourselves, and the church. Drawing from the story of the woman caught in adultery, the heritage of John Wesley, and the optimistic theology of our Wesleyan roots, Pastor Mike reminds us:

Six reasons our Salvation is Limitless

1. No Limits on Who Can Be Saved
Everyone is welcome in God’s family—no matter their past, background, or failures.

“Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, ‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.’”

Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

2. No Limits on How Saved You Can Be

Salvation is just the starting line—God continually sanctifies, transforms, and completes us.

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

3. No Limits on Who God Can Use

God can use anyone—regardless of gender, status, or past mistakes—for His kingdom work.

“I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me.”

4. No Limits on What Can Be Saved

God’s salvation extends beyond individuals—He redeems families, communities, and even nations.

“The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth… When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.”

5. No Limits on How Much it Can Grow

The Great Commission has no ceiling—God is still multiplying His church across the world.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

6. No Limits on How Much it Can Evolve

God continually transforms us—not just to accept who we are, but to become who He created us to be.

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Final Challenge:

This message calls us to believe big, pray big, and trust that God’s plan for our lives, our church, and our city is greater than we could ever imagine.
